Pastor Dan Housam delivers the fourth message in the A Little R&R series. This week, Pastor Dan discussed women's role in God's Kingdom.

Created for Beauty

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4

The Power of Beauty:

  • Speaks
  • Invited
  • Nourishes
  • Comforts
  • Inspires
  • Transcendent
  • How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful!. Song of Solomon 1:15

    A Women's Question: Am I Lovely

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be tha tof your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. 1 Peter 3:3-4

    A Women's Competition

You were the model of perfection, full of widsom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, and emerald, chrystolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turqiouse and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anoited as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectale of you before kings. Ezekiel 28:12-14, 17

    The Confrontation

Now the serpent was more crafty than all the other animals the LORD God had made. He said to the women, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" The women said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'" "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the women. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." When the women saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Genesis 3:1-6

    To Be Romanced

"In that day," declared the LORD, "you will call me 'my husband'; you will not longer me 'my father.' I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion." Hosea 2:16-19

"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and spead tenderly to her." Hosea 2:14

    A Beauty to Unveil

You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace. You are a garden fountain, a well of flowing water streaming down from Lebanon. Song of Solomon 4:9, 15

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. Proverbs 25:2

An Irreplacable Role in an Adventure

"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Luke 1:38

My lover spoke and said to me, "Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me." Song of Solomon 2:10
